Released in 1987, Who's That Mix by This Year's Blonde features cover versions of songs originally recorded by Madonna. The sleeve was not designed by Andy Warhol, but borrows one of his most famous images: Marilyn Monroe.

This record demonstrates how widely Warhol's imagery spread throughout popular culture during the 1980s. Not every adaptation captured the strength, elegance or originality of the artist's work. Some became successful reinterpretations, while others remain curious reminders that borrowing an iconic image does not automatically produce an iconic design. We will leave the final judgement to you.
