Released in 1988, It's All Up To You by Welsh alternative rock band The Darling Buds demonstrates the lasting influence of Andy Warhol's visual language after his death. The cover is heavily inspired by Warhol's celebrated Flowers series, one of the most recognizable motifs of his career.
The image is not a direct reproduction of Warhol's artwork. Instead, it recreates the original photograph taken by Patricia Caulfield, which Warhol famously appropriated and transformed into his iconic screenprints during the 1960s. By returning to the source image rather than copying Warhol's version directly, the designers avoided copyright issues while still paying tribute to one of the most influential images in contemporary art.
